From the Andes to Nepal, a photographic portrait of the world's most remote people and places through the eyes of Amsterdam-based photographer Pie Aerts.

In recent years, Dutch photographer Pie Aerts has traveled to the farthest corners of the world. From the deep jungles of West Papua to the high plains of Bolivia, from the smallest Himalayan mountain villages to the heart of the Okavango Delta, Pie ventures off the beaten path to photograph people and experience diverse habitats around the world.

The avid Instagrammer now presents his best photos in Tales from the Roads Less Traveled. With vivid images alongside travel anecdotes, the book invites Pie's many fans to join him on his photographic journey around the world with him and his girlfriend and favorite model, Jessica Wintz. Page after page, readers are confronted with stunning landscapes, captivating characters and some of the most adorable and endangered animals.

With Pie's unique take on people and wilderness, Tales from the Roads Less Traveled offers a unique look at our beautiful planet, as well as a new sense of connection to the world.

Pie Aerts is a Dutch photographer living in Amsterdam, but constantly on the move, documenting his travels around the world. He loves long journeys, the cosmos, sunlight, bygone eras, but especially storytelling. As a child, he especially enjoyed drawing, which taught him to use his imagination and create stories within the formatted framework of a canvas. Years later, as a photographer, he put this visual storytelling into practice, trying to connect viewers with what he saw, whether it was people, landscapes or wild animals.
